I was giving a Social Development Test to this girl who recently turned 12. I realized that the range of the test went from 12-17 and talked about things she may not have been exposed to (i.e. pregnancy, dieting, and dating). But to keep the test standardized I have to give the full test.
When asked what she would do if she overheard someone whispering that her friend might be pregnant she said, "Hmmm...buy the baby a present!"
I was talking about the way the word coal shows the "o" sound with one boy:
"If you are Christian and you are bad, you get coals in your stocking at Christmas!!!
[dramatic pause]
but I'm Jewish so it doesn't matter."
I love that these 11-year-olds are so innocent. They are so full of joy.
