oh, hilton head.

its my last day spending time with you today.

i'm running around today, packing up all my clothes and headed back to cburg. first though, mom and i are going to stop at the sea turtle hospital in Charleston. mom? loves sea turtles. i? love Charleston. so it's bound to be a good trip. i can't wait to see my mother's face when she sees her new "children" aka turtles. she just gave up smoking recently and has been making a pair of earrings to sell in her store down here every time she needs to keep her hands busy instead of smoking a cigarette. let's just say...lots of people will be getting earrings for Christmas...

its closing time for sure. and that semi sonic song keeps running through my head today. closing time for my first rotation at the hospital, my summer in HHI, and now slowly making my journey up to the north!

some of my top fav memories on the island this summer:
1. grabbing a drink at happy hour after my first week and mom saying "you know that bartender has been takin' some of that medicine..." me: "uh, what medicine?" mom: "no-ass-uh-tall"
2. cupcakes & sparklers on july 4th with logan and katie!
3. charleston journey with Anni!
4. layin by the pool with my cousin Beth (and almost missing her flight out of Savannah...i told her to run through the airport like Home Alone)
5. meeting Robert Irvine (from Food Network) at his restaurant "Eat" and having him call my sister, Emma (his #1 fan)
6. running on the beach at sunrise
7. home cooked meals from Nan which take her no time at all to make
8. reading books i enjoy--Messy Spirituality, Cocktails for Three (almost done), Meeting Harry Winston (super chick flick for the beach)
9. i got a going away gift from my stroke client! a blue bird pin. i really don't wear pins, but i sure as hell will wear this one.
10. soaking up every possible moment on the beach whenever possible.

now its back to packing and cleaning. super excited for this month of August--lots of adventures. i'll start off in hhi, then cburg, then culpeper/cville, then DC, then...school!
